Mid-Century Renovation

Originally designed by architect George T. Rockrise with landscape architecture by Lawrence Halprin, this mid-century modern home was thoughtfully renovated to honor its iconic design while introducing a fresh, contemporary layer. The goal was to create a seamless transition between old and new respecting the home’s architectural heritage while enhancing livability for modern life.

Every detail was carefully considered, from hand-selecting redwood paneling at the lumber yard to ensuring the finishes complemented the home’s original character. The result reflects a true team effort, uniting the vision of Polsky Pearlstein Architects (Jarod Polsky & Elizabeth Raar), BK Interiors, and landscape architect Katherine Webster to achieve a renovation that feels both timeless and forward-looking.
